Is there a way in Windows 2003 server to sync your files with in the MY document folder to the server therefore keeping a copy on both the desktop and on the server??

Move the my docs folder to the network and enable offline file use.

I hope you find this post helpful. Please let me know if it was.

Mark

Mark thanks for the input.

Is there a group policy that will allow me to do this??

Thanks
Joe

Yes it is under user settings, look for folder redirection.

Is there an easy way to find that under group policy manager.

The server that I am working on does not even have that listed under the admin tab.

Thanks
Joe

Thanks Mark; I appreciate your time. I looked under and could not find anything that says My Documents

You do have 2003 server right? Tell me what you are doing to get to this because the above is exactly where you will find it.

I actually did find the sync portion but did not find how to make this offline enabled

To enable or disable support for offline folders and files, perform the following steps:

Start Windows Explorer.
From the Tools menu, select Folder Options.
Select the Offline Files tab.
Make the required changes, such as checking the Enable Offline Files box. The Synchronize all offline files before logging off option forces resynchronization before the OS logs off but doesn’t slow down the log-off process.
Click Apply, then click OK

No, folder redirection is different than the home folder which alows you to centrally assign a drive letter for a users data (but this is not the location of the My Documents folder).
