The "upgraded" My Computer folder in ME shows not only dektop and drives (as with Windows 9* versions but also shows my Scanner) - which is all very nice! Until that is you want to use the scanner! First time I tried scanning on my HP 4100c by pushing one of the buttons on the scanner, my digital camera software opened up and then promptly froze and crashed, destroying my photo libraries with them!
Happy ending to the story though - I had remembered to back up the photos onto a CD first!
Anyhow on checking the scanner properties - by right-clicking on thye icon in My Computer all it's actions - copy, scan etc were allocated the Canon software to" open with". Once those associatings are changed to the the correct one's all is well, but it is worth checking them !
