Has anyone tried (and been successful) installing My CallPilot on IIS 6? We are migrating our web server from Windows 2000 to 2003, which goes from IIS 5 to IIS 6. MyCP is running fine on IIS 5, but when I try to bring it up on IIS 6, I get all sorts of crazy messages about cookies not being enabled, a blank error box (a Javascript alert box with a yellow exclamation and no text), etc. I suspect it's because IIS 6 is much more locked down from the get go.

Maybe there's a patch or something we can get? The version on the CD I'm trying to install says "CallPilto 2.025 My CallPilot S/W and Updates", 02.50.06.08, dated October 23, 2003.

Thanks as always for your advice!

IIS 6 includes new security features to prevent the execution of scripts/ISAPI. I'm not sure what CallPilot may use on the backend, but you could most likely tell based on the file extension's used. This should be a good start.

You can control this through Web Services Extensions, located in the IIS Manager.

I did a little more tinkering this morning.

The problem turned out to be partly my fault. When I installed My CallPilot, it installed to IIS's default web site, which is disabled. I recreated the vritual directory on the production "site", but missed that the MyCallPilot virutal directory used its own user account for anonymous access.

So, I went to the virtdir that the setup program created in the default website, exported the configuration, then imported the configuration to the production site. I also had to add our IUSR_ account to the Program Files\Nortel Networks\MyCallPilot folder with read access.

All is working now, and I didn't even have to mess with the ISAPI stuff!
