Well my brother scewed up his computer, and now I'm tring to format and reinstall win. 95. Well I'm having some problems. Could some one tell me the easy way of doing this PLease. I know some what around a computer, but not a expert.

Get a win95 boot floppy with CD Rom support from (make sure its for right version of 95). Boot PC from said floppy with 95 install CD in the drive. At the A: prompt, type format c: /q (if it already has a fat/fat32 partition & you just want to wipe it to install fresh). Then type x:\setup (where x; is CD drive letter). This should now install 95 (you'll need key & have to answer sowm config questions etc). Once installed, you may need to obtain some drivers from internet if 95 doesn't have its own for all hardware.

PS. This is really a software question - better off in win95/98 forum (forum615).

YOu may find that you need 2 boot disks, a 95 one that will allow you to fdisk and format the hard drive and a 98 one with CD support to use after the format to access the CD for 95 installation.

This is because the 95 may not have the same level of CD support as the 98, and you don't want to use the 98 to fdisk and format because of differences in the file system.

Ed - those 95 disks at bootdisk.com include CD support.
