I think my mx record is not working properly. I set up csmail demo by youngzsoft.com and it sends fine but only works well for replys but not mail I compose and send from yahoo or lycos etc. I've disabled the firewall etc. but still the same.

My mx record looks like this:
robsinternet.com. IN MX 10 robsinternet.com.

I've run nslookup.
Set type=mx
robsinternet.com

First time it didn't find it then it found it but said non-authoritative answer:?? <- Wierd stuff

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!
Rob

You need to create an A record for your mail server, pointing to its IP address. Then, you can create the MX record for your domain pointing to your mail server.

eg:

mail A 64.30.138.148
robsinternet.com MX 10 mail.robsinternet.com

Seems to be working okay ..

robsinternet.com preference = 10, mail exchanger = robsinternet.com
robsinternet.com internet address = 64.30.138.148

220 ESMTP CMailServer 4.0.2002.11.24 SMTP Service Ready(Unregistered)

Chris.

Would you guys mind trying the address for me? rob@robsinternet.com. I still get hit or miss results and I'm at a loss for what's causing it.

I get failure notices from som addresses and nothing from others?

Thanks,
Rob
