Brian,
MX-ONE-2, as it will be released in the US, is essentially BC13.
The Telephony Server piece is the new LINUX box which replaces the LPU and LSU/DSU. There is an external card shelf which accommodates all the current TDM hardware.
In the initial release, it is a stand-alone system, and it is only scalable up to a few thousand extensions and you can't currently add MX-ONE to an existing system as if it were an additional LIM.
Eventually, the Telephony Server will become the main processor in existing MD's, but the timeframe for that is currently speculative.
We're holding the Ericsson User Group Annual Meeting in Baltimore MD. in April this year to coincide with the Volvo Ocean Race, in which Ericsson is sponsoring a boat.
Ericsson plans to have a tremendous corporate presence there with extensive product demonstrations etc. I'll work on Ravi to join the EUG and send you.....
I expect the official product release will coincide with this event and all of us will (hopefully) have a better understanding of how E/// plans to handle the transition beyond BC-12sp8 for large systems prior to later releases of MX-ONE. I guarantee this issue will be a major disussion item in the meeting.
C-ya,
Dave Strang
(ps) ya coulda just called me.... ;-)
