I have been trying to connect S8710 to MM R2.0 using IP trunk. I manage to get into the voice mail and leave a message and retrive. However there is no message waiting on my phone. I have check on the MM MWI status it show that it is on. Any idea where go wrong?

A couple of things to check. We are running 1.1 and a few issues I've run into with MWI is. We use the outlook plugin. I assume any other setup would have this same option but check (in outlook) tools>options>vm tab>telephone user interface button>assistant tab. Make sure the message waiting indicator box is checked and the appropriate rule is in place. Even if it is uncheck and recheck the box. Thats worked a couple of times for me.

Second thing I just found was the e-net card in the server was set up with power saver. It would go to sleep and not send out the MWI messages. If your using IP trunking you may not have that issue, but you might what to check that.

One more thing I've seen is that the MWI services are very flakey, requireing me to start and stop them probably 6 times in as many months. Try restarting the MM Mailbox Monitor service, and the MM message Waiting Indicator server service.

Hi RTMCKEE,
Are you trying to say that the MWI is related to the outlook plugin? Not all the users is using outlook to retrive their voice mail.

We have both set ups here. I will have to check to see if the folks who dont have the outlook plugin get the MWI.

I do know that toggling it on and off will make the light start working though. Just not sure if its required for VM to light the MWI.
