Currently I have a Definity G3SI. I am implementing a call center and want to have music on hold. I am not sure how to make this happen as I am not sure what additional hardware I need other than a music source. I understand that I can use one of my analog ports for music but am unaware of how I can take the audio source from my PC sound card and get it to the switch. I would appreaciate any help.

I've already posted before on this.
Thread690-506975 here it is again:

On my Definity, I use these Audiotrak TEL-1 transformers.
Its a little black box with 2 screws for input wires from an audio source and 2 screws for output to an analog phone line (off your switch).

The input side I went to an electronics store (or Radio Shack if you are desperate and don't mind paying a bit more), get a 1/8" headset type plug and some speaker wire, and hook this up to the input side. Plug the 1/8" plug to your CD, MP3, PC soundcard or whatever a headset can fit into.

Then on the output side, put some phone wire and bix it into your analog port that you use for your music on hold.

I got mine through Avaya, but you can try the manufacturer.

There twenty something bucks.

Let's say you plug it into 01a1120, where 01a11 is where you have an analog port, and it's on the 20th pair.

Then create an announcement, give it an extension (ie:4321) , of type analog-m, Q = B,
QLen, Pr and Rt set to NA.
Finally in the port field, put your analog port 01a1120.

Play music on your source and in your vectors you can do:
wait 30 secs hearing 4321

If you want this to be your main music source (this would be when you do "hearing MUSIC", or your hold music, then don't make an announcement.

Instead do a Change System-Parameters Features.
On page 1, you should see Music/Tone on Hold. Set it to Music and on port 01a1120.

I have this plugged into a PC with 2 sound cards and I use winamp (a different copy for each sound card).

Thanks FoneFun. I just ordered the transformer from Burket.
