Hi there
We are 7 persons working with a splitted db.
I 'm not so expert about Multiusers database and i would like understand something:Some stations have win98, some others win95...could be a problem?(On each station we have Access 2000)
Do i set something particulary to optimize the connections between the back end end all the fronts end ?
Two pc has just 32Mb ram.....it's a problem?
Sometimes i see an error message "Invalid bookmark",could depend from some conflicts storing records?
Well..i'll buy an Italian to english translator...
Thanks all Ciao to everybody

Hi Mario,

We are 7 persons working with a splitted db.

7 people should not be any problems. I support a database with 28 users and have no problems at all.

As long as the version of Access is the same, I dont believe you will have any problems.

Do i set something particulary to optimize the connections between the back end end all the fronts end ?

Here is the best website for performance:

This website helped me out tremendously. Big improvements!!!

Access 2000 is kinda a memory hog (my opinion). The application will run since it meets the minimum requirements but performance/speed wont be the best.

Sometimes i see an error message "Invalid bookmark",could depend from some conflicts storing records?

I really cant say for sure about this error message but I believe you are on the right track with your therory.

Hope that helps! Have A Great Day!!!, [bigglasses]

Hi Mario. A couple thoughts about your "invalid bookmark" message. Check to be sure you have the Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library referenced in your database. Also, try Compact & Repair.

The Invalid Bookmark error could be real...how about this:
- user 1 starts navigating through records
- user 1 sets a Bookmark to a record
- user 1 moves around through the database
- user 2 deletes the bookmarked record
- user 1 wants to go back to that record using the bookmark.
...

But it's a trappable error, so you can programmatically decide what to do if it occurs.
