I am wondering if there is a way to set up a workbook to allow multiple users to be able to make changes simultaneously. I know you can open as read-only if you open a workbook that someone else is using. I am just wondering if there is a way to set this up because I have a worksheet that is updated by several users and they are running into problems because the other users are in the workbook at the same time.

Thanks

Hi,

Take a look at workbook sharing.

If it ain't baroque, don't fax it! [tongue]

And then disregard it as it is horrible to work with. ;-)
IMHO, if you want a nice simple multi user app, go for Access

Yesterday it worked. Today it is not working. Windows is like that.

I was waiting for that!

I'm going to keep re-iterating it as I honestly believe that the "Sahre Workbook" option in excel is so bad that M$ should bin it. I have yet to see or hear about a single project using a shared workbook that works as it was intended and that the users are happy with!

Even mine broke recently after Geoffs previous warnings!
Is it the XLBO curse.
I won't be using them again!

We use a shared workbook to keep tabs on our company credit card expenditure; no problems so far )

File bloating ??
Users making changes but then having them overwritten as there is no hierarchy system for which should be implemented when conflicting changes are made??
Workbook corruption ??
Can't make changes to macros whilst in share mode ??

Any more for any more ?
