Hi. I have 3 domains i want to host on windows 2000 pro. I signed up with a DNS hosting company and want to use IIS as my webserver. I set up all 3 sites using hostheaders. It worked for a day then began to give me page cannot be displayed ie dns error. I know it can't be the hosting company because i checked all ends. It has to be IIS. I've got the three domains on on IP. I've learned you can host 3 or more domains in windows 2000 professional by using host headers and creating subdirectories with one IP address. It worked for a day then stopped. Then I uninstalled IIS a few times , it then worked each time by changing settings and a few other things, then it stopped again, giving me the page cannot be displayed-note-, the page cannot be displayed was the dns error could not find server and not 404 error(where the page could not be found). Why would it work then stop working for no particuliar reason? The dns hosting company i have has all domains pointed to my IP. Note: I am referring to IIS 5 available in winkpro and not win 2000 server.

I was going to ask you to create multiple websites instead of doing it ur way but since u have win2k pro and no server then that's not possible. I hope u're aware that u have a limit as to how many ppl can connect to ur website simutaneously.

Back to your problem.. did u try disabling the two websites and assign the IP to one website to see if it's still giving u that error msg? what i mean is to take out the host headers.. and just direct all ip traffic to one single website u have and see what happens.

If possible could you give us more detail on "how" u used host headers w/o creating multiple websites so we can see if anything looks suspicious? Also a cut and paste of ur error msg?.. Thanks.
