I have Oracle 9i 9.2.0.1 on Solaris 8 and have 3 instances sharing an Oracle Home (HOME1). I installed another Oracle Home (HOME2) with the same version. I have the ff questions when it comes to having multiple Oracle Homes:
1) I want to install another database instance on HOME2 with the same name as one of the instances on HOME1. Is this possible?
2) How do you know (and make sure) that an instance is running on a specific Oracle Home?
3) Do you need to install another listener for the new Oracle Home or can I use the same listener (for HOME1) for database instances that run on the other Oracle Home (HOME2)?
Appreciate any advice.
Thanks
