Hi all
Just after some advice on the best way to implement the use of 2 NICs in a server, as I'm out of my depth here!
Windows 2003 server as member server of NT 4 domain (don't ask!) with 2 x Intel gigabit cards. It runs our IP security cameras and also our sophos antivirus. What I would like to do is try and separate/manage the traffic. Will using both cards help?
I can give each card an ip address (we use static ip's here), but this then gives me 'duplicate name' errors in event viewer.
I can tell the camera software which IP address to use as the server, but sophos and the pc's connecting to it go off machine name anyway, so I'm not sure if this will help.
Is it worth turning load balancing on in the properties of the network connections?
Yours confusedly
Mike
