I currently have two proxy servers both running off seperate broadband connections. ProxyA and ProxyB
Proxy A is used as a mail and HTTP gateway
Proxy B is currently used as a citrix gateway
I wish to use PRoxy B as a backup email gateway also.
All other considerations aside, this will involve adding a second MX record on my domain at a lower priority.
I only wish the lower prioritized MX record to be used when the broadband connection to ProxyA goes down and renders the higher priortized MX record invalid
I wish to confirm that the email would only be re-routed to the lower MX record in the above scenario.
To explain this furthger, I would also like to know what is the deciding factor in declaring the server unreachable, I presume it is a timeout, but what is the length of this timeout ? etc
