multiple links to the same table

I have a report that has two tables linking to a third. Example: header record links to the status table and detail record links to the status table. Each can have a separate status. I need to show the current detail status and the current header status. My report is grouped by the header value. I have the header table linked to the status table and the detail table linked to an alias-status1. The problem is that I'm getting the same status on both the header and the detail, when I know this is incorrect.
Any ideas?

Go back into the Visual Linking Expert and make sure Crystal didn't link the alias tables.

Also, make sure the heasder and the detail are nol linked on Status.

Status is not linked to status alias. Header and detail table are linked together directly and each is linked to status (or status alias) independently. Any more ideas?

Check your record selection criterion.

Check you are indeed showing Status from two different status "tables" (original + aliased) rather than from the same table...
