Greetings,

I have a 3904 with the side bar (expansion unit). The operator uses a headset that rings when her phone rings. The problem is she can only pickup her preferred line and none of the other lines that ring. I want to prgram the set so when the hand or headset picks up, it picks up the ringing line not just the preferred set line.

I guess the question is, if multiple lines are ringing, which line does it pick up, starting with first hunt?

I have set CLA - IRA, NIA.

Is this possible or are there any other settings I need to set.

Thanks in Advance

Jason

lpk 30

last pickup key needs to cover all the lines, not just the main two. and lpk only works in scr/mcr not scn.mcn.. the line have to ring

Thanks John as allways you are a great help in this forum.

The problem I have with the Meridian guides is they tell you what the command is, but not what is DOES! How in the world am I supost to figure out what a command does only by the indequate comment.

Anyway,

What is the difference between SCR (Single Call Ring) and MCR (Multiple Call Ring). They are all SCR now, if multiple lines are ringing, do I need to set them to MCR for them to be picked up?

Thanks as allways,

Jason

Found this page with some better descriptions

Multi-Call Ring Key [MCR x...x]:
A MCR key allows multiple calls to ring and be answered at your phone. Number of calls able to come in is limited to the number of phones with the same MCR key. In the following example three phones are setup for MCR 2000. The first call to 2000 will ring on all three phones. When phone A picks up, phone B and C will stop ringing. The second call to 2000 will ring on the remaining two phones (B and C) if B answer C will stop ringing. The third call will only ring on the remaining phone (C). x...x designates the extension programmed on that key.

So instead of calls ringing over to multiple dn's (not sure what that is called), keys on multiple phones can be set to the same MCR xxxx. If someone dials extension 8000, when first person picks up, if another party dials 8000 the line will ring on the same dn on the other phones with that MCR set. Does the line show busy on those other phones such as solid or flashing icon or does it go blank when first phone is picked up?

I prefer seeing all of the lines so I know how many calls are active (roll over).

For LPK (Line Preference Key) - Last key scanned for Automatic Line Preference

CLS must be set to IRA, NIA or OLA.

Are these CLS settings = Automatic line preference or do I need to set the Automatic Line Preference telling them to pick up when ringing?

IRA - Incoming Ringing Line Preference allowed
NIA - Non-Incoming Line Preference allowed
OLA - Outgoing Line Preference allowed

Can anyone recommend any books or manuals that can be purchased without going to a class to get the full definitions and understanding of all these prompts and commands?

Thanks

Jason

Ok

I set CLS to IRA, NIA and OLA (not sure if I needed them all) and set PRK to the last key I wanted to pickup on, and its working fine.

Thanks as allways John,

Jason
