I'm going to purchase an hp pavilion with a mini-tower. Because of operating system requirements and our hardware specs, (ie a printer that will not work on our current OS, XP) we're thinking that a computer with two operating systems (which requires two hard drives?) installed may be the answer (in order to jump back and forth between XP and, say, 2000)...does anybody have any idea about this scheme? Thank you!

Maybe VMWare would be worth investigating - then you could run one operating system "inside" another.

Hope this helps

I never suspected it could be so simple...I will certainly look into this VMWare...Thank You!

You don't need two hard drives.
Any drive with two partitions will do it.
If 98 is installed on C, just install 2K/XP on D.
It will automatically set up a dual boot menu for you.

Cheers,
Jim

Warning: Pavilions are very picky about their drivers. Most are available only from HP. I would download the drivers you need before installing any new operating system.
