I have an analogue DN used as a helpdesk not physically connected but presented on 2 x M3904 users handsets. At present when a call is received any of the 2 operators can take the call however if another call is received this will go to voicemail. Is it possible for the second call to ring on the spare operators handset and be handled and the third call to go to voicemail?

Set them up as a MCR Multiple Call Ringing
Key 1 MCR XXXX

This will allow either party to pickup the first call second then second party will be able to pickup next.

Forgot you will have to build all line appearances as an MCR you cannot mix SCR, with MCR

That was the first thing I tried - but got SCH0369 - "Function conflicts with existing call arrangement"

Key 0 is of course their own DN and SCR but id like to present another number on key 3.

Any thoughts?

did you take the number off all the 3904s beofre you tried to add it as an MCR?

bhassell2000

No, I kept their key 0 SCR **** and added key 3 MCR 4040

Should I make their Key 0 DN an MCR too?

I thought id try making all DN's on that handset MCR's so I removed SCR 4040 from key 3 on one user then tried to change their key 0 DN to MCR but got that SCH0369 again?

Any thoughts?

I tried doing that first time round - Key 0 remained as SCR **** and tried adding KEY 3 MCR 4040 but wouldnt have it. Another handset still remained with both key 0 and key 3 as SCR - so I removed nulled key 3 on the second phone and tried again - still no joy.

can you remove the dn from the analog phone and try to add the MCR keys?

Pretty sure bhassel has it right - The analog appearance is scr and THAT is the conflict between scr/mcr. The 3904 sets don't care what kind of dn keys they have - I have sets with ACD keys, SCR keys AND mcr keys - all different numbers of course.

But I was pretty sure the OP said there was an analog appearance of the dn he wants as mcr and you have to get rid of that.

Remove all appearances of the DN on digital/ip sets.
Make the analog TN CLS MCRA.
Then put the DN back on the other sets as MCR.

Plus what Stanley said!

Bottom line is you have to remove all appearances of

KEY X SCR XXXX

After these have all been removed then you can add the appearance as
KEY X MCR XXXX
Remember any given ext cannot be both SCR MCR.

Ok my options are 1 of 2 as follows:

1. I remove all appearances of 4040 on the 2 operator handsets then out the existing Analogue DN 4040 and re-present as an MCR on key 3 on both the operators handsets. Obviously their prime DN remains SCR XXXX on key 0.

2. Remove all appearances of 4040 on the 2 operator handsets, change analogue DN 4040 to CLS MCRA and re-present as an MCR on key 3 on both the operator handsets.

Assuming this will work ok how do we get a call to jump into 4040 voicemail when the third caller rings in?

you don't have to out the line on the analog, just remove the lines on the 3904s, change the CLS on the analog to have MCRA. Put the MCR keys on the 3904s and have the MARP of the line stay on the analog wioth forwarding to voice mail and it will follow the forwarding of where ever the MARP is.

Done - tested and working. Thank you all for your valuable advice.
