I am trying to setup a multiple boot pc using the guidelines in this article:

>I did not choose enable large disk support
>Installed Win98 on primary C: partition
>created logical partitions

Now I am trying to install NT4 but everytime I get to where do I want to install it the setup keeps trying to install in the C:\ partition even if I select another partition, what am I missing?

TIA

That's the only primary NT is seeing?
Maybe fdisk again...

No, I created several logical partitions, NT recognizes them as damaged or unformatted, even though they are. tried selecting them but NT still wants says that the C: partition is not formatted and do I want to format it.
Just for grins and giggles I have selected yes, but I get an error.
Went through FDISK again and everything looks cool.
Active partition C: FAT16
Extended DOS with 4 logical FAT16 partitions.
This is a 60GB HD.

So you are using only 10GB of the hard drive [5 partitions of 2GB each] and the remaining 50GB is unpartitioned?

Tip for me: quit trying to get get around the easy way, use boot disks, use large disk atapi...

I'm starting to wonder if your hard drive is going south...
done a surface scan?
I know this is not a solution...it's really a copout...but I migrated from NT to XP...and have never looked back.
Of course I just formatted the old install and went with XP...but it's the best thing (no shilling for M$ here) I've done in a long time.
I've even put XP on some older machines...and it works fine.
XP a consideration for ya'?
Also, I'm reading about installations where NT and Win98
both were allowed to install in C: with no ill effects...I'm too (my wife would say a_al) picky to let that happen...
It also may be doing some files on C: and the rest of the install on D: (as a question rather than a statement)

XP is going to get installed last, I just wanted everything available for testing.

Thanks.
