I have one user who has demanded 10 different smtp aliases. This was easy setting them up to receive mail using multiple SMTP aliases in AD.

Now the user is asking to be able to send emails using the different aliases which have been set up. In this, I mean he sometimes wants a generic sales@xyz.com vs his name@qqq.com.

Using Outlook you can setup a second POP account, however you can not setup a second account using Exchange.

I tried using the "from" and putting in the desired alias however, when it sends it is back to his default userid.

Any suggestions?

I don't think you can use Outlook/Exchange to accomplish exactly what you are trying to accomplish.

The only way I know of to dosomthing like this is to actually create additional mailboxes and give this user 'send-as' permissions on them. Then when composing a new email, he can use the From field to choose another account that he has 'send-as' permissions on. The From field has to be populated with the name of a user with a mailbox in the Exchange organization, it can't be populated by an smtp alias. And that user/mailbox has to be one that the sender has 'send-as' permissions on.

But then reply mail to those alternate addresses doesn't go back to the central mailbox unless each mailbox has a rule to forward it to the main user.
