I can't find the feature of the multi monitor in the display-properties, although i have a notebook with an ati mobility radeon M6 (running on winn 2000) and have a vga output so i could connect it to a second monitor.
I read the microsoft knwbase, they spoke only about disabling the vga modus of the second card, but i cant see so a switch in the bios setup of the notebook.

thanks for any help or contribution.

It usually is some function key combination + a F key
to get simultaneous picture internally and externally.

I must have it enabled in the bios(simul) so i have this toggling opertunity.
Then the dual windows desktop worked.

That is not the point, the toggle feature works very well, in that case i become the same content of the same display in both of the displays (monitors). i need to display the content of two different outputs, and move and drag apps from one into the other.
there is a difference between multi deesktop and multi monitor (i didn t know the existence between them before).
but thanks for he contribution.

Wrong phrase i'm sorry.
i ment multi desktop in windows.
Only worked for me if the bios where set up as i said.
But i guess you have tried out most combinations.

Have you got the latest drivers installed for your graphics card? If not update it and then check what options you have.

We use Toshiba laptop and we had an issue with the new M10 range not playing videos on an external display such as a monitor or data projector. An option to play the video files (mirror settings or something) needed to be enabled but until the latest drivers were applied the option was not there.

After installing the latest drivers see what additional options you have.

What is the make and model number of your laptop?

i'm going to look for the latest update of the driver.
i've a Maxdata 710x with a mobility radeon M6 grafic card.

thanks for the idea.
i'll be right back
