Question If I had another building that was 5000 ft away from the S8710 stack would I need to go all IP-Connect with IPSI's CLAN's and Medpro's rather than Multi-Connect single IPSI per carrier? Or will a IPSI be able to travel that far over a local network? And dose the entire design need to be one or the other or can you have both?

run a fiber between the 2 buildings and ip connect would work just fine for ip control cabinets

Is there anything that needs to be turned on going from Multi-Connect to IP-Connect RTU's or system parameters settings. And dose the entire switch need to be one or the other or can you have half and half?

cduff,

in r11 and cm2 it had to be one or other. starting with cm3 you can choose what suits you best and combine both methods as you like.

So if I understand with CM3 you can have both IP-Connect and Multi-Connect on the same switch.
