To do this, it is best to create two partitions on the HD, one for win98 and the other win2k.
Install Win98 to one partition, and then install Win2k to the other. Make sure that when you install win2k you select the option to install to a separate location (not over the top of win98!)
I would also advise, when offered the option, to convert the win2k partition to NTFS. For no other reason than it likes it.
Thanks, I also need to have win ME on a partition as well but it does appear to have an option to install anywhere other that C:?
At the moment I have 4 partitions The first has W98 on it the second i would like ME on it and I need W2K on the third.
The forth is just for files? Hope this is possible - I'm sure it is!
WinME MUST be installed on C: as primary active partiton. You have no choice (thanks to MS).
Once you've got ME installed, get a good boot loader, such as
and install it.
Next, set the default boot to your second partiton, install win98.
Next, set the default boot back to WinME, run the install of Win2k, and choose NOT to upgrade, specify the 3rd partition to install to. This will create the boot menu of ME/2k, and you'll need to manually add win98, or just leave the xosl boot manager in place.
DO NOT specify NTFS for your win2k install if you wish the drive to be visible in ME/98. It must be FAT or FAT32. If you WANT the Win2k partition to be invisible to ME/98, then go ahead and make it NTFS when installing. Cheers,
Jim
