Forgive my ignorance...I should have said it was a "setup" password. It comes to the screen before the windows screen. To be more precise, the Dell Optiplex screen comes on, then up comes this request for a password.
I originally went into the setup to change the original password, used the process and entered the new one. It said it had been changed. However, it now accepts both the old and the new.
However, I am glad I erased the windows password file. thanks for the tip. Now I need to get the setup to accept just one password instead of two. Any suggestions?
