Yesterday my w2k machine was running at 100% cpu, so I investigated. I discovered mstask.exe was running at 85% - I couldn't kill the process or stop the service. A reboot fixed it, but does anyone know why this happened? I'm using SP4.

Thanks in advance

Penny :)

Mstask.exe is of course the Windows Task Scheduler. It might have been executing a scheduled task. It would be worthwhile to check for malware: faq608-4650
