My sql server on my personal computer has been working fine but this morning it stopped all by itself and generated an error #1069 saying this service did not start due to log on failure. occurred while performing this service operaton on the MSSQLServer service.

Anybody know how to get my SQL server running again?

This is caused by either the SQLServer or SQLAgent not being able to logon. The password may have been changed.

In Enterprise manager, right click on Your Server and also on SQLAgent to find out what they are trying to logon as.

You can change this password by
1. Open up Control Panel
2. Double-click Services, and then double-click
MSSQLSERVER.
3. Type the correct password in the Password and Confirm
password textbox, and then click OK.

Check out article Q282254 on Microsoft's Knowledge base about "Error 1069".

Good Luck
Bernadette
