I'm stuck on an issue with firewall clients. I have been trying to get internal network client machines to log onto ftp sites and external VPNs through ISA server. I have been told that the firewall client MSPCLNT is used to create a bridge between the client and ISA server. I'm running a server 2000 machine and windows 2000 clients. I have ISA configured correctly to allow outbound traffic to ftp sites.

I have installed MSPCLNT on a machine and tried to ping an external IP address and external domain names but the machine still doesn't establish a connection through ISA.

Has any one configured MSPCLNT before and had the same trouble? Please help, things are getting deperate!

Cheers

JB

Have you also configured a protocol rule to allow your internal clients access to the required protocols? By defining the default rule for internet access will give your clients access to ftp.

When you mean the default rule for internet access do you mean a rule within ISA server? I was also wondering if i have to set permissions withing routing and remote access. At the moment all i have set in that is the default settings.
Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

I have made some progress with this issue. Thanks for the info sjrh. The only thing is i had to fix the ip address of my test machine. I can now ftp to external machines.

Thanks again
