MSN Remote Desktop XP Services PLS advice

Please someone know wich XP services SHOULD be present to enable MSN Remote desktop for a client. I can ping him but no luck on establishing a remote connection. I think is services on client computer.

What is the error message you receive?

Services: Terminal Services, Remote Procedure Call (RPC), and DCOM Server Process Launcher.
 
I have probably misinterpreted your question but see if there is anything here.


The Remote Desktop feature is not available in Windows XP Home Edition. However, a computer running Windows XP Home Edition, or any version since Windows 95, can use the client software and Internet access to remotely control a computer that runs Windows XP Professional with Remote Desktop enabled. The client software is available on the installation CD for Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Home Edition.


Make sure any firewall is not blocking the required port.

How to configure the Remote Desktop client to connect to a specific port when you use Windows XP

Terminal Services.

Allows multiple users to be connected interactively to a machine as well as the display of desktops and applications to remote computers. The underpinning of Remote Desktop (including RD for Administrators), Fast User Switching, Remote Assistance, and Terminal Server.

My deepest thanks for your time.....I was in the same path of solution and I will try it as soon my client (who has XP pro, I installed it) is avalable.

Remember:

. Fast User Switching disabled
. No blank or empty passwords - the remote client must have a username and password on the Host machine
. Port 3389 must be open on the Host machine
