Hi all,
After searching the web for quite some time i never resolved how to use MSN messenger through a proxy/gateway until yesterday.... our system is set up so our windows 2000 server is a gateway using RRAS including the use of NAT. But for the life of me i cound'nt use messenger from my local PC as it would always come up with the .net service failed to connect. My connection settings for messebger were to use a HTTP proxy server with my server ip address and port 8080. So i decided to check the internet explorer options where i noticed in the advanced tab there is a option to allow HTTP 1.1 through a proxy server. So i ticked the box tried messenger again and it worked!
I hope this helps anyone who has got the same problem as Microsofts help on this seems to be cack.
