Hi All,

This may not be the right forum but I'll try anyway. We have MSN Messenger hooked up for intra office communications, on a Win 2k server platform (SP3), Win 2k and Win XP Pro clients, TCP/IP based. Problem: MSN Messenger continously opens up the notification window announcing a member just logging on, even if they have been online for sometime. This happens all day long and is pretty annoyung. Does this have to do with the SSDP protocol?
Would appreciate any help or tell me the proper forum to ask this question in.
Thanks,

zebratech

I suspect that it's due to inactive/idle time setting. I believe this takes effect after the screen saver starts. So, if this idle time is set for 10 minutes - 10 minutes after the screen saver is activated, the user is shown as 'away'. As soon as the user moves the mouse, the screen saver stops and messenger shows that he/she is back - aka signed on again.

Change this time setting to see if I'm right. It can be found in Messenger, Tools, Options, Preferences tab, Show me as "Away" when inactive for xx minutes.
