All,

Recently I upgraded to Windows xp pro and I installed the msn messenger v6.

my problem is, version 4.7 is still showing up and i would like to remove it!

I have attempted to uninstall it via add / remove but it has now disappeared from there.

it only happens when I open outlook express, i have unchecked the button under "tools > options" but it stll trys to sign in..

any ideas?

Thanks all,

Brendan

I would try uninstalling both versions, deleting any left-over folder in Program Files, then reinstalling v6. Having two versions can cause a few hassles (I've seen it cause problems with Hotmail, and with error messages in IE).

You can disable messenger altogether. You shouldn't need it. Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Serices > Messenger > Right click and set startup type to disabled.

Guys,

I uninstalled version 6.0 and renamed the messenger folder in the program files directory.

I reinstalled msn v6 and it now appears to work fine, no msn 4.7!

Thanks guys!
