I have a scanner which has decided to stop working.
I'm running w2k and the scanner is on a USB port
I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver/software and now I get a "cannot load msmgr32.dll"
Have no idea where to go from here
Any ideas chaps?
Many thanks

lynne,

You didn't say which scanner you had, but I'll guess that you have a Microtek. What model do you have ??

Lynne,

Based on a search for the error message, it was a good guess !!.

Microtek have a new driver on their site that you should download from here:-
and instructions that you should print from here:-

They suggest that you boot into Safe Mode before installing since some files are locked in normal mode. Hit F8 every 2 seconds during bootup and you will see a menu. Pick Safe Mode.

I'd suggest that you do things in this order.

1). Power off the scanner.
2). Download and save the file to C:\Temp.
3). Reboot into Safe Mode.
4). Go to step 2A in the instructions and run the un-install.
5). Skip to step2E and find the directory specified in the instructions (C:\MICROTEK) in My Computer and delete it.
6). Unzip the downloaded files. Note where they unzip to.
7). Find Setup.exe and run it.
8). Power on the scanner.
9). Reboot into Normal mode.

That should do it. Review the above and if some thing is not clear, leave a message before you start.

Good luck,

Ian
