MsiInstaller installer error

Okay, I kept getting this error when trying to open any of the Microsoft Office products. When I click on, lets say MS Word, a window would popup to install something and then the window disappears and nothing happens afterward. The error in the event application log is as followed:

This one also lists a fix which requires editing the registry, exporting the relevant keys before the edit is usually a good idea.
