I've created a test package for Nero burning rom (the actual software I'll be rolling out is different, but I'm using nero as a test), using Winstall LE to create an MSI package for Nero. I've assigned it to computers in a test policy on a test OU, and it installs fine on my pc. But when I try to remove the app, the computer boots up saying Nero is being removed but when I log in it's still there. The error in event log is:

The removal of application nerotest from policy TEST Policy failed. The error was : Fatal error during installation.

any ideas what would cause this? Am I creating the package wrong? I just run a preinstall snapshot and a post install snapshot with Winstall LE to create this image. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok I tried running msiexec /x nerotest.msi and the error I get near the end of the uninstall is:

Error 1306. Another application has exclusive access to the file "C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\Repository\fs\index.btr". Please shut down all other applications. Then click retry.

I'm assuming this is the reason it wasn't uninstalling from GP...any ideas what that file is and should MSI installs even be messing with the files in that dir?

Nobody has any ideas on what the problem could be??
