Can anyone shed some light on the poblem Im experiencing with an Exchange
2003 server generation MSExchangeTransport Event ID 977 followed shortly by
Event ID 978
1) Event 977 reports "MSExchangeTransport - Routing Engine/Service "
Following Connector fails to connect to its target bridgehead server
CN=Servername SMTP Connector to Smart Host.
2) Shortly after, Event ID 978 appears. MSExchangeTransport - Routing
Engine/Service - Follwing connector is now ok to connect to its target
bridgehead CN=Servername SMTP Connector to Smart Host
Consequently the MTA X.400 is unable to route any messages received,
destined to for transmission via this SMTP connector to the Smart Host.
The local server is defined as the local bridgehead server and the Smart
Host's IP address can be pinged and the name resolved, therefore
connectivity and DNS resoltion (although not used here) are operational.
Ive seen others reporting the same situation however NO cause or resolutions
have been posted.
