Ok, I have one office with a group of companies all working out of the same office with Exch Server 2003.
There are Outlook Clients who work for more than one company meaning they need to send from 'company A' today and then 'company B' tomorrow.

I have various email addresses set in AD for each client with the primary "set as primary" such as:

joe24@wonders.com
joe24@livingit.com
joe24@mondoe.com

It is a nuisance to change the primary every time the client wants to send from a different company.

Q. What is the best method to cope with this issue?

We use POP accounts added to the mailbox, that are de-actived for receiving mail. When composing a message, you can select the used e-mail address by selecting the right account.

Making extra e-mail accounts is not the problem I guess? (TOOLS->E-MAIL ACCOUNTS). Then, go to TOOLS->OPTIONS and there you can deactivate the account. I have a Dutch version of Outlook, so I cant tell you the exact buttons to push.

Ok, I understand.
I thought initially you were talking about creating POP accounts on the server.

I tried it and yes it works ok. The only problem I have is that I have to send it straight to the smtp instead of routing through the Exch server.
But that is a minor issue.

Thankyou very much. This has helped me a huge amount.

Create additional mail enabled accounts, and grant the user FULL CONTROL to it. The user can then SEND AS when needed.

That would be 'User' accounts wouldn't it?

I tried making contacts, but there is nowhere to set permissions for contacts... so they dont work.

And I dont want more mailboxes, otherwise they might start filling with mail?

Yes - mailbox enabled user accounts. Your options are limited without the use of third party products.
