msconfig/startup is missing Scanregw.exe. How do I replace it?

Go to run command and type regedit.
Now expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then expand SOFTWARE, then expand MICROSOFT, then expand WINDOWS, Then expand CURRENTVERSION, and click on the RUN folder. ADD a new String value and call it ScanRegistry (just like I typed it.) and add its path as c:\windows\scanregw.exe /autorun

Thats all you need to do. I am sure there is an easier way but this one works.

Hope this helps

win98 or winme?

are you trying to get scanreg to run on every start up or
to get it to save the occasional registry?
