MS Word Problem

A friend has Office XP (2002) installed on a Windows 98 machine and when they try and use Word a blank document is shown and a flashing cursor, but no letters or any other keyboard commands operate only a message about edit needs installing.

Can anyone help to solve problem.

Find and Rename Normal.dot to Normal.old and Reboot and open word and try again.
