MS Word locks up trying to insert pic

I have a user who is trying to insert a picture into word and it locks up word. He is using the insert, picture, from file selection. Then word locks up. Any ideas?

How much memory does his PC have, and how large is the photo?

512. Dosen't matter what photo I try it locks up before I am able to select a photo. I don't even get the screen to select it.

Does it lock up at the point where you try selecting a directory from the dropdown list? There's an MSKB article about it.
