I created a document based on the "Professional Resume.dot" template supplied with Word 97.

I want to add page numbers to the document, but when I attempt to access (click in) the footer area I cannot gain access to this area even though I can see the dashed outline of the area.

I tried placing text boxes at the bottom of each page and was able to put page numbers in these but when I print the document, the page numbers do not print.

Anyone have any ideas why I can't access the header or footer areas in this document?

Try:

-Click on the header where it has the address
-Hit the 'switch between header and footer' button
-Insert Autotext -> - PAGE -

You can then centre the page, or type text to either side of it. I couldn't see any way to type text directly into the footer.
