Hi, reinstalling a machine from a recovery cd, now at the stage to run windows updates and of course I get the validation screen, which comes back and tells me it thinks my os is genuine but cant validate it, so wont give me access to certain updates. Ive gone thru the steps and answered the questions it asks to verify the os is valid. Im told that I have to contact the computer manufacturer.
Is this normal for a pre installed os?, what do you do if, for example you cant contact the computer maker?. Is there any other way around this, sounds like MS will can only be bothered to verify their products if you purchased the out of box product. It is valid and genuine. Bit annoying really...
