MS Outlook SR-1 Attachments

I am having a problems sending attachments to to non outlook user, they can't open them. Any Ideas on a work around?

This could be on the receiving end. What is the error the receiver gets? What client is the receiver using? What format are you sending - HTML, RTF, Plain text? What type of attachment?

I have tried sending them in all three making the adjustment via tools/options/mail format, but I also noticed there is a check box if you go addressbook/(pick a name)/properties/name and in the lower left hand corner is a ck box for sending E-Mail in plain text only, I don't know which one takes presidence. The return messages are kind of vague, something to the effect of not being able to open a winmail.dat attachment, or it just wasn't there.

winmail.dat usually indicates that the message was sent in RTF, which can't be read by any clients except Outlook. See this article for more info
