I have a user that is using MS Office 2000 and for both Word And Excel when she clicks on the Icon it comes up with message that the password is incorrect and asks for a new User Id and Password. She has not passworded the applications in anyway. However it is possible tht she may have a file that she received from someone else that is passworded. Still why would they both be asking for passwords the moment she even clicks on the icon to open the appl.
Thanks for your time

hello

can she run the application at all or does it require a password to even do this? can they create new documents? if so, can she open a document she created without the password prompt?

as soon as she starts either excel or word ... it prompts for a password. She can't start either without a password. The problem is that it isn't asking for her normal Id and password and it doesn't accpet my administrator ID and password either.

For now we have uninstalled the applications and reinstalled them. This fixed it. But it still doesn't tell us what caused it. I know it happened once before quite a while ago to another tech in the company. Unfortunately he didn't find a solution either and had to do the same thing. Uninstall and Reinstall. This is an easy bandaid but it doesn't tell us what happened
