We are running MS DNS Server with Active Directory. Recently we have noticed a number of errors appearing in the DNS Event Viewer, and a couple of zones in the DNS go missing - the . zone and the zone for our AD domain. The errors we see are ID 4000 ad 4013. We've done a bunch of searches - however, they suggest turing on full debugging which is an issue for us - we can't see how to get the level of debugging that is called for in Server 2000 (that's what we are running).

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Brian

Check to make sure you are using the correct IP for your DNS server for starters, then if this is correct, are you running the latest SP on your server? if yes, try visiting the following links to follow directions on fixing the problem.

If you are still having trouble, log into the computer in safe mode and do an AD restore from a good backup.

Hope you find this information helpful
