A table where each record is a building has a field with the building's photo. The photo corresponds to the proper record. But when the mdb file containing the table is writting to cd/r disk and mailed to another user, some of the records show photos not of that building, but of another.
Can the effects of compressing/uncompressing the file mess up the pointers in the some records where a photo becomes associated with a different record, even if the compression ratio is kept to a minimum? Is the brand of CD a factor? I heard that certain CD/Rs work best with certain brands CDs.
The wrong association of photos with building records happens only a few records after copying the mdb from the CD to the hard disk. But if we try copying it several times, it will eventually copy correctly and each photo is with its proper record.
This happened a while back and we are no longer dealing with this mdb, but I thought it would be an interesting question to put on this forum to see if anyone else has experienced this.
