having problems with a new network installation, new 2003 DC but existing workstations.
They had xp home, so they had a fellow come in before me to upgrade to pro. Anyhow, new server is in place and i'm holding the bag. This server is one of hundreds installed and everything is working great on the server.
Yes, dns is functional, nslookup returns the server name yadda, yadda, yaddah.
The problem is this mrxsmb message (warning). Everytime I touch a mapped drive to the server from an xp workstation it's throwing this message and actually losing (instantaneous) connections to the server. I have never run across this problem before.
I've changed computer names, reset tcp, reinstalled tcp, updated drivers, upgraded bios etc etc. This is driving me nuts. Windows firewall is disabled, so is computer browser, AU, NLA, SSDP etc, just to see if they are causing problems.
Anyone else come across this?
Thanks.
