We are having problems with two locations. We are both on MPLS , when they call us they get a ring and then a off the hook tone. We can call them with no problem. They also cant fax out to any location?? Any ideas???

Jroleon, thanks for responding! Unfortunately I dont have access to check it. I'm actually in communications and was trying to reach out for some ideas of what the problem may be. My manager has told me that our svce provider cant seem to figure out the problem. Is it them or is it our network engineer I should be asking??? I'm assuming its not a issue on our trunks and it's a network issue?

Can I assume there is a phone system on both ends? What type of interface is going towards the router? There is a multitude of stuff I could ask here. Can you briefly explain the enitre setup?

This is how I understand it is set up, so please forgive me if I dont sound smart.

We have various sites with MPLS. If we call one of these locations (within our network, i guess) we go over MPLS. The way I understand it is it goes over a AT&T on net Voip Trunk on our pbx.

What has initiated this is our LD trunks went out and the failover should be MPLS, but its not working because we were dead in the water. Thats the first problem.

The second problem is our cleveland location cant call us, they get the off hook alert.

Yes, There is a phone system on both ends.

Maybe my understanding of MPLS and how we are set up is incorrect?

I think the larger issue is that we need a LOT more information about your network and system design before we can given an intelligent answer. We need to know more about what your network looks like and we need more details about your voice system.
