MP3 slowing down on play back

Hi,

When I try to play back my MP3 files they seem to slow down and then speed back up again? Its quite frustrating....does anyone know why this happens and how I can rectify the problem?

The device for playback is a Yamaha PCI Audio (DS1x Native)

I run Windows 2000 Pentium II with 256MB RAM

Let me know if you need any other information...

Pentium II might not be fast enough to keep up with the decoding.

Hmmmm not sure about that as my old desk stop had a Pentium II in it and that had no problem?

Do you think it could be a sound card issue?
