I use to have Win98 on C drive & WinXP on E drive. I deleted the Win98 sysyem, now I want to moxe XP to my default drive on C:. Any easy way to do it? All my files for WindowsXP are on drive E; Except the only program id office 2000 on D drive. Only thing on C drive is.

system 32/hal.dll
boot.ini
devicetable.log
IO.SYS - 0 bytes
MSDOS.SYS - 0 bytes
NTDETECT.COM
ntldr

Nothing else but the system volume information.

Is there a easy to do it!

You're not talking about changing master/slave settings or IDE cables right? You want to keep the same physical drives & drive letters, just move all the XP files and data.

Will this work?
The only other possibility that I can think of would be to use some imaging software like Norton Ghost, then restore the image to the C drive.

With either of these options you will also need to edit boot.ini and you will quite likely have problems with programs that look to drive E for info.
