Morning.

My colleagues and I are looking to move the schema roles off one of our older servers. We have looked into this and it doesn't look as simple as possible. We have a 2000 native domain and are moving to a 2003 native domain.

i have looked at articles like -

It seems so simple in this article.?

can i please have any information from peopel who have carried out these changes etc. Cheers in advance.

1. register the schema management dll

regsvr32 schmmgmt.dll

2. run mmc.exe, click console - add/remove snapin and add the active directory schema snapin.

3. assuming you're on the current schema master or the dc you wish to make the new schema master, right click active directory schema, select change domain controller, and off you go.

It's that easy.
